The Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab fighters have displayed soldiers, whom they said have defected from the interim Jubbaland administration in Jilib town on Tuesday.
Al Shabaab has released photos posted on militants-affiliated websites, showing Six soldiers armed with AK-47 riffles in military clad in uniform standing side by side in Jilib district in middle Jubba region.
The soldiers are reportedly surrendered to Al Shabaab after deserting from Jubbaland state army over unknown circumstances. Kismayo-based Jubbaland state did not comment of the defection reports.
Al shabaab, a militant group linked to Al Qaeda has in the past paraded soldiers from Somali national army (SNA) and the regional administrations.
