A reporter working for the Independent Radio Shabelle station was slightly wounded in a shootout between two groups within Somali Military in Mogadishu on Sunday morning.
Mahad Mohamed Abdirahman “Mutawakil” has sustained minor gunshot wounds and immediately taken to a hospital, where he is being currently treated.
The reporter was injured as he was attending a press conference held by the district commissioner of Hodon in Tarabunka junction at the time of the gunfight.
The military soldiers quarreled on the demolition of disputed slums in the area, subsequently triggering a gun battle that left two people, including the journalist wounded.
The wounds of the reporter are not life-threatening, according to the Network.
