The death in Tuesday’s car bomb attack in Somali capital Mogadishu by Al shabaab militants has jumped to 20, while scores of others injured.
The deadly attack took place after a car packed with explosives detonated at the gate of Wadajir district administrative headquarters, killing 20, most of them civilians.
Al shabaab claimed responsibility for the bombing, saying it killed several local government officials, according to the group’s operations spokesman Sheikh Abdulaziz Abu Musab.
The spokesman of the Internal security ministry put the death toll at 10, while 9 others were wounded. But, witnesses and Al shabaab confirmed the toll was higher than this.
