1978 – 1986: Lower and Upper primary education
1986 – 1990: Secondary education
1995 – 1996 Accounts and management course at Oxford Inst. in Somalia
1997 – 1998: Horizontal école de français langue in Mogadishu.
2000 – 2001: Computer institute for computer courses.

4. WORKING EXPERIENCES


July 2004 to date

Has been working as deputy Chairman of Shabelle Media Network and also work as a radio Journalist for the same network. I am engaged in different radio production programs.

In the radio production programs, I am a senior producer and manage day to day broadcast programs and also have editorial capacity to safeguard the accuracy of the aired programmes and news.

I also work as acting Chairman of Shabelle Media Network when the CEO is away for overseas trip.

2001 to 2002

· I was a head teacher at a small Somali Community School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. During that period I also worked as translator for the Somali Community in Addis Ababa, accompanying them to the Foreign Embassies.


2002 to 2003


· I went to a journalism assignment to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and worked there for a short period of time.
· I was one of the very few Somali Journalists covering the Somali peace talks at Emabagathi, Nairobi.
· I also did some journalist work in the UAE.

1996 to 2000

§ Taught History, English and Somali language primary and upper primary schools in Somalia. I become a head of different schools in different periods. Participated in developing achievement indicators and tests for primary and upper primary schools.
§ Taught Computer soft ware programmes in privately owned institute in Mogadishu.

5. ATTENDED TRAININGS/WORSHOPS

· Attended Non Formal Education training workshop in 2003 held in Merca South of Somalia.

· Attended a training workshop on mini disc and Adobe audition program organized by IRIN NEWS and held in Nairobi 2003.

· attended a workshop on how to report HIV/AIDS accurately organized by Health-Unlimited and held in Hargiesa North west of Somalia

· Attended Personal and professional capacity development workshop for Shabelle Journalists facilitated by Ali Musa Abdi, a well known Somali Journalist working for AFP.

· Took part in the facilitation of a workshop on good governance and Democracy funded by EU and Danida and organized by Shabelle Media Network.

· Attended a seminar on IHL organized by ICRC.
