Radio Shabelle an independent media is back on air after 23 days of off air

The Somali national security committee officially announced that three of the major Mogadishu radio stations are permitted to carry on their normal duties of journalism after been off aired by the government for more than 20 good days.

After prolonged discussions between the government and the directors of the entire radio stations in the city on how the media should work, both the government and the directors ultimately come to the point of understanding each other and in this case the three closed stations were permitted on air.

Some of the articles brought before the radio directors were amended while others were agreed upon.

The population of Somalia particularly those of Mogadishu city showed great approval to the come back of radio Shabelle once again on air.

It was on 12th of November when government soldiers entered the headquarters of radio Shabelle and compelled the radio to be cut from the air.
