Somalia: Kismayo seaport resumes its activities today

Mogadishu 15,Nov.07 ( Sh.M.Network)
-
The traditional elders of Kismayo district successfully succeeded to bush aside a block at the entrance of the harbor, which froze the loading and the unloading activities in the seaport.

As our Shabelle correspondent in the district Adan Kismayo told radio Shabelle a group of militia put waylay on the tarmac street that enters the port and hampered the activities in the seaport. These groups of militias are demanding for previous arrears money.

The committee of the traditional elders went to the militias and with enough caution informed the militiamen to cart off the blockage and they will be paid for the overdue.

When the militiamen closed the entrance to the seaport yesterday the security forces in the district attempted to chase these militiamen from the area, and the drama turned into hot combat of which these militiamen could not be moved an inch, but after intervention of elders the charcoal loading activity which was going on in the port resumed peacefully.

It is not the first time the port is experiencing such event there had been some similar cases before of militiamen demanding for arrears.
